TraumaSFX™ Grunge and Grime Spray is a fast and easy spray on “dirt” makeup that instantly creates the look of dirty, grimy, filthy or muddy looking residue on skin. It’s a self-fixing medium that dries down with a dirty grungy look and stays put with a moisture and rub resistant finish.
The buildable coverage fills in wrinkles, creases, and pores creating a filthy looking soiled effect. It provides a distressed “down and dirty” look to skin, hair, prosthetics, and costumes for authentic looking results.
It works well with all coloring mediums such as ink palette makeup, rubber mask grease, color makeup sprays, etc. to enhance all kinds of dirt applications, or to add that dirty grungy finishing touch.

TraumaSFX™ Grunge and Grime Spray is made with a skin friendly acrylic copolymer base that doesn’t contain any water or oils, so it sets completely in a few minutes for a virtually rub-proof effect. It depicts a very realistic looking dirty and filthy effect for live staging and in camera to creating the look of a soiled appearance. The long-lasting application can also be touched up or built up during wear with additional spray if desired.
The slower-drying polymer formula allows time to rub, stipple, smear, smudge sponge or brush spatter the product onto the skin for desired effects. Build Grunge and Grime Spray up in dried layers for more 3-dimensional and textured looks. Or, thin it with a bit of TraumaSFX™ 99% Alcohol Activator to create subtle lived-in effects.
It can also be layered over with cosmetic powdered dirts, such as Graftobian Special FX Powder and TraumaSFX™ Combat Distress Mud. Create a theatrical perspiration spray made with water and Graftobian Liquid Pain and Sorrow Glycerin to give an enhanced, caked-on filthy moist look.
TraumaSFX™ Grunge and Grime Spray is safe to use on the face, body and hair but avoid spraying in the eyes, nose, mouth and inside ears. Use it around the neck and behind the ears, on the body, arms and legs for the “dirt in the wrinkles” look. Immediately after applying the product have the person scrunch or wrinkle up skin areas where applied, for that deeper dirt look as it dries down.
For even filthier-looking applications use Graftobian Rubber Mask Grease makeup in Black or Dark Brown first, then seal with Graftobian Makeup Setting Spray and let dry. Then spray Grunge and Grime Spray over the sealed makeup for the desired results. It works great over latex, wax, silicone, gelatin, PVA appliances, and prosthetic transfers.
TraumaSFX™ Grunge and Grime Spray is water resistant of exposure to the elements and will not transfer to clothing. It can be used on costuming but it is strongly recommended to perform a patch test for suitability. It’s easily removed from skin with soap and water or Graftobian Pro Adhesive Remover.
