Graftobian Special FX Powders are talc-free cosmetic grade powders that are highly pigmented for use in simulating and enhancing a range of realistic looking filth, grime or soiled effects. From black coal soot and dusty looking ash to earthy plains dirt, these high quality theatrical products are an essential part of safely creating different kinds of debris and residues with authentic texture and detail.
From a light dusting to ground-in heavier wear results, they deliver a finished distressed look to any casualty simulation moulage or other kinds of special effects makeup on skin, hair, prosthetic appliances, clothing, staging props, and human patient simulator manikins.
With these three versatile use powders you can also create a variety of customized soiled or dirty looks and apply them in so many different ways for striking, realistic visual effects.

Graftobian Black Soot Powder is a super black charcoal-like powder that simulates the life-like realism of charred, burnt, black ash, or soot debris trauma. Use it as a powder burn around a simulated wound, or as a simulated explosion after-effects blown on the face, clothing and background props.
It’s perfect to use for dirty, sooty-looking skin and hair, or to simulate burned clothing. Use Black Soot dusted on top of an application of blood gel or paste for a fast and very realistic soot-encrusted, bloody burnt wound effect.
Graftobian Texas Dirt Powder is the “Movie Dirt” known for its realistic brown color and versatility in simulating brown soil, dirt, and debris. It adds that look and feel of outdoor dirty, dusty, grimy, and muddy looks without strong red overtones.
It’s fine consistency easily distresses all kinds of surfaces for filthy, grubby, messy, dirt and debris trauma effects. It makes a great dirt-crusted bloody wound or scabbing effect when dusted on top of an application of blood gel or paste too.
Graftobian Ash Dust Powder is a light grayish, off-white color that resembles white clay or volcanic ash – similar to a natural clay substance called Fuller’s earth. It’s ideal for simulating realistic-looking grayish dirt or ash effects. It’s fine pigment texture looks, acts, and feels like real pale, dusty, powdery-looking volcanic ash. It also resembles sand and rubble-like residue.
Used subtly It provides a grayish pale tone for an overall pallid dusty look. Or, use it to heavily ashen or gray out the face, hair, body, prosthetic appliance applications, even clothing and props if the scene calls for it.
Graftobian Special FX Powders can be applied in a variety of ways, by smudging them on with your fingers, cosmetic sponges, dusting them on with a powder brush to face, body and clothing, or using a black stipple sponge to press powder irregularly over skin in a dry or wet application.
Rub powder directly into fingers, nails, knuckles, and elbow creases or other skin creases for a dirty and grimy filth effect. Put powder tied in an athletic type sock to direct dirty or distressed looks by pressing the filled sock against specific areas of skin and clothing. You can also spritz any powder application with water to further darken or intensify the overall look.
Graftobian Special FX Powders mix easily with petroleum jelly for greasy, oily, or muddy effects on skin, hair, clothing, and props. They also mix well with Graftobian Liquid Pain and Sorrow Glycerin for a great dripping or oozing effect.
These powders can also be custom blended together in different ratios to create a variety of different colored soils or other realistic dirt and grime effects. They can also be custom mixed down with Graftobian Translucent Pro Setting Powder to create lighter, more subtle soiled looks too.
The powders are talc-free so they are safe to use on animals and children with supervision only. Washable with soap and water, however test for suitability on clothing first before use.
CAUTION: avoid spraying, dusting, or applying in or near eyes, nose, ears, and mouth to avoid irritation. Do not ingest. Keep container lid tightly closed and out of reach of children and pets.
