TraumaSFX™ Blood Loss Mini Palette contains five realistic blood colors in a small ultra-portable ink tray with lid. It’s a handy, go-to group of multiple blood and injury tones SFX artists need to create realistic looking trauma results, from UHD camera work to live events and training enviroments.
These alcohol-activated blood colors produce an accurate view of real-life bleeding cuts, scratches, rashes, burns, exposure, illness or disease-related injuries. They can also be custom mixed, and applied in thin translucent layers (like watercolors) or built up for more intense opaque-looking results.
The FDA approved, highly micronized pigments are skin safe, and provide a superior degree of pigmentation in color application results that quickly dries down. The result is waterproof, rub-proof, and transfer-proof wear that requires virtually no touching up, and delivering great stability in wear. Use it for blood color effects on skin, hair, and all kinds of SFX prosthetic appliances, and with caution on human patient simulator manikins.

TraumaSFX™ Blood Loss Mini Palette delivers long lasting continuity and won’t fade off until you take it off. The blood colors include: Fresh Blood, Dried Blood, Vein Blood, Aged Blood and Mauve Adjuster. This compact palette allows you to create an infinite number of blood effects on the spot, and can be used in conjunction with any other alcohol activated ink palettes for even more variety in choices.
This specially designed collection is a popular go-to “blood bank” all makeup SFX artists love to use in producing an exact likeness of the real thing. From movie and TV makeup special effects to all kinds medical simulation training, this bloody five color palette always delivers true, believable color payoff.
The inks can be used with other coloring mediums, such as Graftobian RMG Rubber Mask Grease paints and TraumaSFX™ Color Makeup Spray. They are compatible with latex, foam latex, gelatin, PVA, silicone appliances, prosthetic transfers, etc. They can be applied with a variety of tools, such as brushes, cosmetic sponges, sponges with different surface textures, cotton swabs, mascara wands, even fingers to achieve that “inside the skin” realism result.
It’s important that only 99% alcohol, such as TraumaSFX™ 99% Alcohol Activator be used to fully de-saturate/activate the color for best results. Spray a layer of the alcohol over the top of the color in pan and stir the top firmly with a brush to liquefy color for full strength use. Spray additional alcohol to rehydrate during use if needed. Do not use 91% or lower as you not achieve full color saturation results.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended that a patch test be performed first before using to gauge suitability for use on patient simulator manikins or other artificially made skins.
CAUTION: As with all alcohol-based liquid makeup applications avoid using in or around eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use any oil or oil-based products over an application as it will slowly dissolve the ink color.
