TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium is a versatile plasticized liquid material that can be used in freehand work or cast in breathable molds, such as plaster to create highly realistic life-like injury simulations and appliances. It catalyzes (dries) in the same way as latex, but it is a water-based vinyl medium that is completely fume-free and non-toxic / non-allergenic to skin.
When cured it produces a tough and durable long wearing skin contact application or prosthetic appliance that is waterproof, rub-proof and sweat-proof. TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium cast in a mold becomes stable re-usable appliances that have an indefinite shelf life.
TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium can be brushed, sponged, slushed, stippled, gelled or sprayed wherever or however you need to use it. It is also used to re-flash/repair the edgings of pre-made TraumaSFX™ PVA appliances after wear too. It’s the ideal latex alternative for those who have latex allergies.
TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium is a remarkable multi-use formula that offers superior SFX application outcomes, as anything you can do with latex you can also do or better with PVA Liquid Medium. It can be safely applied directly on skin for a variety of special makeup effects uses with real-to-the-eye trauma outcomes.
The results are far more skin-like and transparent in texture and appearance, unlike the thicker latex “rubberized” texture look. It’s very easy to use in a variety of ways, such as for making custom flat mold translucent appliances. TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium is the safe, non-toxic, and fume-free alternative to using risky encapsulation mediums, such as solvent-based vaporous plastics. It works perfectly with other SFX materials, especially for encapsulating silicone, latex, wax, gelatins, etc. to make them into self adhering and reusable appliances with repeat wear.
Used directly on skin and dried, PVA Liquid Medium becomes a very durable long-wearing clear “film” that is buildable for multiple uses, such as burns, rashes, cuts, abrasions, pustules, and more. This also makes it perfect to use as a skin prep barrier application, especially under latex applications or heavier adhesives when you need a protective temporary skin sealant.
PVA Liquid Medium does not need any additional skin tone color application as when dried it mirrors the natural skin color beneath it. This saves time and extra product use too. If specialized coloring is desired for certain SFX needs it mixes easily with powdered materials such as Graftobian Special FX Powders, Graftobian FX Blood Powder, or Graftobian Skin Tone Pro Setting Powders. It can also be mixed with a bit of liquid blood FX such as Graftobian Stage Blood, TraumaSFX™ Combat Injury Blood, or TraumaSFX™ Combat X-Plosion Gel. All these products can also be used on top of a PVA Liquid Medium application when dry.
Best of all it is waterproof, rub-proof and sweat-proof when dry for long durable wear, and without needing repair or refits. Great to use on human patient simulators too! TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium applies and bonds to skin without additional adhesives, and any edges can easily be blended out with TraumaSFX™ 99% Alcohol Activator.
Caution: For professional use only. Keep cap tightly closed immediately after pouring and when storing to prevent air from solidifying liquid! Keep away from heat and cold sources, children and pets. Keep liquid out of hair, eyelashes, beard, and brows as it encapsulates firmly and can cause discomfort in pulling when removed from hair. It is recommended to shave thick hair areas prior to an application to avoid discomfort in removal. Keep product from freezing and extreme cold to avoid spoilage and rendering it unusable.
