Graftobian Modeling Wax is an FDA approved non-toxic blend of microcrystalline waxes that is impervious to moisture and humidity.

It has excellent firmness but easily pliable under fingers to create small injury simulations, facial distortion traumas, and building up wound effects, especially on bony areas of the body.

Modeling Wax is translucent enough to imitate real flesh, and provides super smooth edge blending for seamless transition on skin. It’s not overly stiff and hard textured, but softens easily and becomes quickly pliable under the warmth of fingers.

It retains excellent shape and firmness when modeling and forming into an appliance, either on a palette or sculpted directly on skin, and remains stable once fixed in place.

Graftobian Modeling Wax is quick and easy to sculpt wound effects directly on skin, such as raised scars bullet holes, broken noses, broken bones, bumpy effects such as warts, blisters and boils, cuts, avulsed lacerations, small protruding wounds and many other injury simulation effects.

You can sculpt Modeling Wax separately on a non-porous flat platform, such as a mixing palette, glass, etc. Or, use it on a skin safe medium such as Topstick or other medical tape, adhesive bandages, moleskin, gauze pads, wraps or sleeves, etc. to pre-make small appliances that are ready to wear too.

To shape and mold the wax: using a very small amount of Graftobian Makeup Remover on finger tips will immediately soften the surface of the wax to help sculpt, feather, and smooth the wax more easily into the desired result. It works well with a variety of modeling tools if desired to use and easy to recreate skin surface pores with textured sponges. It also helps blending off the edges of the sculpt for a seamless edge transition, especially onto skin. Blot any remaining remover residue with a dry tissue or paper towel.

Apply powder to the completed sculpt to remove any residual excess and providing a more matte surface for finishing products. After powdering it can also be sealed with a couple of light coats of Graftobian Makeup Setting Spray. To add more of a durable sealing “skin” to the appliance it can be brushed with Graftobian Clear Liquid Latex and allowed to dry. Repeat with another layer or more until desired thickness is achieved, and powder the final coat well to remove the tacky surface.

Modeling Wax is safe and ideal to use as a hair blocking and sealing agent, such as eyebrow hair when the special makeup effect calls for an application along the brow bone. It’s safe to use on human patient simulator manikins, and for veterinary wound simulation use too.

The Light Flesh Color can be custom colored into other shades by mixing in a bit of Graftobian RMG Rubber Mask Grease Makeup Wheel Derma color of your choice into the Flesh color. The Blood color wax is a dark red color that is ideal for use as a dried blood, swelling or scabbing effect. Modeling Wax is also waterproof and strong enough to hold small impalements in place, such as TraumaSFX™ Crashed-up Glass and other small imitation shrapnel pieces in place.

Graftobian Modeling Wax is compatible with other cosmetic and prosthetic materials used in creating injury simulations, and can add that extra lifelike trauma enhancement and realism to other types of ready-made appliances used in makeup special effects such as silicone, rubber, plastics/vinyls, latex, gelatin, etc.

Modeling Wax also works great as a fast edge blender or sealing medium on prosthetic appliances, such as latex, especially when you need a smoother appliance blend off on skin. It can also be encapsulated by painting several coats of TraumaSFX™ PVA Liquid Medium around a completed sculpt to turn it into a self-adhesive appliance too.

For longer durable wear and firmer adhesion, apply a thin layer of Graftobian Pro Adhesive on skin and allow to dry. Press a thin layer of cotton into the dry adhesive, then pull it away, leaving some embedded cotton strands. Proceed with modeling the wax on top of the strands and allow to bond well before proceeding to next steps.
